With our corporate headquarters proudly located in San Antonio, Texas, Superior Hospice and Superior Home Health provides care in the South Central and greater South Texas region spanning over 50 counties and 500 cities. Services

TELEHEALTH

Telehealth is the distribution of health-related services and information via electronic information and telecommunication technologies. It allows long-distance patient and clinician contact, care, advice, reminders, education, intervention, monitoring, and remote admissions.

LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSES

Superior’s LVN’s Provide nursing care to patients under the supervision of RN’s or other medical professionals. They also prepare patients for exams, procedures, and maintain equipment and supplies. Lastly, they observe and chart patient condition.

REGISTERED NURSES

Superior Hospice Registered Nurses (RNs) work as part of a team to provide care, monitor health conditions, administer medication, use medical equipment, advise patients and their families on current prognosis.

Superior Home Health’s Registered Nurses oversee caregivers, provide medical assessments, and study and update client care plans. They also work along with the licensed vocational nurses to ensure proper care is practiced for each patient.

CERTIFIED NURSE AID

A Superior Hospice certified nurse aide takes care of proper grooming and hygiene of the patients. They help the patients in brushing, bathing, dressing, and feeding. They also provide nail and dental care to the clients. A nurse aide also supervises the nutritional and supplement needs of the hospice patients.

Home Health certified nurse aides provide basic personal care to patients, many of whom are elderly or disabled. … Primarily, they assist with bathing, dressing and other hygiene needs, in addition to preparing meals and helping patients eat.

MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKERS

The Superior Hospice Social Worker gives psychological and emotional assessment of the needs of the patient and family. Information and community resources are also given. A Superior Hospice social worker assists patients living with terminal conditions. They arrange for care to enhance the patient’s qualify of life and counsels them and their family as they adjust to the diagnosis.

PHYSICIANS

The Hospice Physician can work with the attending physician to meet the general medical needs of patients and families. Moreover, hospice can work together with the physician of the patient’s choosing.

Services a Superior Home Health Physician may provide include: making the medical diagnosis and managing medical problems; preparing a treatment plan with short and long term goals; ordering ancillary personal care; prescribing equipment and supplies; reassessing the treatment plan; documenting medical records, and providing for 24-hour physician coverage.

LICENSED THERAPISTS

Superior’s Licensed Therapists evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a home care environment. They also establish treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients’ pain and help them increase their mobility. Futhermore, they work cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients’ progress. Certification and/or licensing in the position’s specialty is the main requirement.
